The preacher who has the task of explaining to the people of God the Word of God will always preach two sermons at exactly the same time. One will be a boring, uneventful, repetitious, gnawing sound to the ears of those to whom a whisper is too loud because they do not wish to hear what the Word of God had to say. The other sermon will be, regardless of the skill and delivery of the preacher, a sweet reminder of the the living water that washes, simply by the hearing of the Word to those who are the sheep that hear His voice. The style of a preacher will come and go. The Word that he preaches, if it is the Word of God, will remain forever. The sheep hear Jesus’ voice even behind an unskilled orator. So, preacher preach! And know that you will preach two sermons at exactly the same time, each time you preach
